Functionality, space planning and tech lay the solid foundation for every design. Art, treasured pieces, visual touchstones, modern and vintage elements are layered into the mix. Color, texture and materials hard and soft are added to create an integrated aesthetic the flows throughout. The end result is a home that provides comfort, delight and the perfect setting for you.
The Commercial Design Process
Nest of Southport’s design expertise is grounded in numerous projects and clients across office, restaurant, medical, professional services, and even a unique meditation studio.
Our objective is to create an easy to use, positive and memorable experience for our client’s customers. Our highly organized project management bounded by budget and timeline realities allow the client to move forward confidently. Collaborating with the architect, the project’s program, physical conditions and functional goals are established. As the Interior Designer, we work closely with the client to understand marketing goals and target customer to create the right look and feel as well as a distinctive experience for the customer.
Design concepts, space planning and details are communicated with a combination of quick sketches and digital drawings. Sample boards of furniture and finishes are presented and updated with client input. Attention to detail from specification to purchasing to the final punch list review, we manage the entire installation process allowing the client to focus on their business.

How we got here.
Nest of Southport LLC was established in 2002 by Beth as the culmination of a full career in design and marketing stretching from coast to coast, from office to commercial to residential. Even Disneyland Paris was touched by Beth’s design acumen. A graduate of Cornell University, she also holds B.S. in Environmental Design from The Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. Beth is a Professional Member of the American Society of Interior Designers and served on the Board of the Connecticut Chapter of ASID from 2015 to 2017.
Many people may remember the original Nest of Southport upholstery shop on the Post Road, acquired from Vincent Design and now Organica after the building was sold. Nest of Southport was located at 362 Pequot Avenue in the heart of Southport Village from 2014 to 2020, sharing a landmark blacksmith’s shop with Runk Douglas Antiques.
In the Fall of 2020, Nest moved to share office space with Geddis Architects just around the corner at 71 Old Post Road.
Nest continues to serve clients from New York to Connecticut and up to Vermont.
